Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and mission-driven Clinical Director of Adult Medicine to lead our Adult Medicine Department in Hartford, Connecticut.
Reporting directly to the Chief Medical Officer, the Clinical Director will provide strategic and clinical leadership, with a focus on delivering high-quality, efficient care—particularly for underserved populations with complex medical needs. This role includes oversight of providers, operational leadership, and advancement of specialty programming, including diabetes and infectious disease initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Leadership
- Provide direct patient care in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
- Ensure delivery of evidence-based, high-quality clinical services
- Lead initiatives to improve outcomes for patients with chronic and complex conditions
- Maintain compliance with regulatory and clinical standards
Provider Oversight & Team Management
- Supervise physicians, APRNs, and PAs
- Lead recruitment, onboarding, retention, and performance management of clinical staff
- Mentor providers to ensure quality, efficiency, and patient-centered care
- Promote interdisciplinary collaboration across departments
Operational & Strategic Oversight
- Partner with executive leadership to advance departmental goals
- Ensure regulatory and compliance adherence within scope of expertise
- Support quality improvement and population health initiatives
- Drive program growth and sustainability
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited medical school
- Board Certified in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
- Physician license in the State of Connecticut (or eligibility for licensure)
- Experience practicing in large health centers and/or private practice
- Experience supervising advanced practitioners (APRNs, PAs)
- Experience managing clinical teams, including recruitment and staff development
- Familiarity with compliance and regulatory requirements
