Position Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced Nursing Director to lead our Med-Surg/Telemetry unit in Sunnyvale, Texas. This executive-level nursing role is responsible for the clinical, operational, and financial performance of the department.
The Nursing Director will ensure delivery of safe, high-quality patient care while aligning departmental strategy with overall organizational objectives. This leader will collaborate closely with physicians, nursing staff, and executive leadership to drive performance excellence and patient-centered outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Strategy
- Provide executive leadership for the Med-Surg/Telemetry unit
- Develop and execute long-term departmental strategies aligned with organizational goals
- Mentor and support nursing managers using evidence-based leadership practices
- Communicate priorities, monitor performance metrics, and implement course corrections
Clinical & Operational Oversight
- Ensure safe, high-quality patient care delivery
- Oversee staffing models and productivity benchmarks (HPPD)
- Maintain compliance with nursing standards and regulatory requirements
- Ensure staff competency in the nursing process and equipment operation
- Oversee interpretation and monitoring of patient hemodynamic status within scope of practice
Financial & Performance Management
- Develop and manage departmental budgets
- Drive cost-effective resource allocation
- Lead performance improvement initiatives
- Achieve staffing productivity and operational efficiency targets
Collaboration
- Partner with physicians, frontline staff, and the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO)
- Address operational challenges and implement sustainable care improvements
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Texas
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
- 3–5 years of nursing leadership experience
- Strong operational, financial, and clinical management skills
