Position Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced Nursing Director to lead our Med-Surg/Telemetry unit in Sunnyvale, Texas. This executive-level nursing role is responsible for the clinical, operational, and financial performance of the department.

The Nursing Director will ensure delivery of safe, high-quality patient care while aligning departmental strategy with overall organizational objectives. This leader will collaborate closely with physicians, nursing staff, and executive leadership to drive performance excellence and patient-centered outcomes.


Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Strategy

  • Provide executive leadership for the Med-Surg/Telemetry unit
  • Develop and execute long-term departmental strategies aligned with organizational goals
  • Mentor and support nursing managers using evidence-based leadership practices
  • Communicate priorities, monitor performance metrics, and implement course corrections

Clinical & Operational Oversight

  • Ensure safe, high-quality patient care delivery
  • Oversee staffing models and productivity benchmarks (HPPD)
  • Maintain compliance with nursing standards and regulatory requirements
  • Ensure staff competency in the nursing process and equipment operation
  • Oversee interpretation and monitoring of patient hemodynamic status within scope of practice

Financial & Performance Management

  • Develop and manage departmental budgets
  • Drive cost-effective resource allocation
  • Lead performance improvement initiatives
  • Achieve staffing productivity and operational efficiency targets

Collaboration

  • Partner with physicians, frontline staff, and the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO)
  • Address operational challenges and implement sustainable care improvements

Required Qualifications

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Texas
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
  • 3–5 years of nursing leadership experience
  • Strong operational, financial, and clinical management skills
